Good Friday Thoughts

My first thoughts of this day waking were immersed in imagining
what it must have been like for Jesus so many years ago.

Before the sun rise placed in chains.  Brutally beaten and mocked, then made to carry a cross beam
up a hill to be nailed on for a misery of public demonstration ultimately dying.

He offered no resistance and made no plea for his life.

Whether you believe scripture or not makes no difference.  Even if scripture was fictional the reality can't be disputed
as such executions did happen during those days of Rome's Kingdom.

I have known some unusually tough days for being alive, but none of them combined approach the difficulty of what Christ seemingly volunteered
in seeing to completion.  In the garden of Gethsemane it is said that Jesus sweated blood.  A Doctor told me that sweating blood would be as comfortable as having a layer of skin removed so that blood droplets would push themselves to the surface!  Road Rash.   That is how His day started.

As I study the life of Jesus, He is the first I know of that endured two deaths.  The first being a spiritual death.  In order accept the sin of man He had to become that sin.  33 years of life walking about knowing God intimately then God is gone.  His friends were gone as He took that last journey.  His second death was that of being alive.

My steps today will be taken on the needs and the intentions of the day.  I have things that I must see to and then other things I'd call chores.
You don't have to believe in Christ as Savior like I do.  If you are honest however considering this day and how this day is historically
important to Christians  shouldn't be difficult.  The record indicates this day did happen.  The horror of the happening should be enough for anyone to pause; believer or not, and think about just how difficult a day can be.

These are my thoughts of this Good Friday.

Sweating blood is also a sign of being under heavy stress ... We could think that his Divine Nature abandoned Him for those days, in which he was just a man .... It seems that has happened to other men in similar circumstances of stress, though it's very rare ... Indeed, Christ lived there, He really knew and saw another crucifixions, which were common in that place and time, and surely those were pretty worse than what we can wonder from reading the New Testament, novels or movies...

I would say it as "In order to accept the sin of man He had to become that MAN: to get a wrap of thief, murderer, liar, etc ... a MAN that carries the load of all sins of MAN, from the past, present and future." I think in that MAN being the sort of a SUPER-MAN, in the sense of a man the represents all men...

If my memory does not fail ... after the prayer in that garden, some angels (?) went to comfort Christ, it's like if Christ was not God from then on, and then that MAN needs some special comfort....

Indeed, this day was a wonderful one for men, due to the results, that is redemption .... But we believe it was a very bad day for Satan, when he thought that if God had not forgiven His Son, what would happen with him? So, he realised that there's no forgiveness for him, if he had ever got some hope, that hope vanished at that very moment. If Satan got some temporal pleasure in seeing Christ tortured, and his body destroyed, and finally nailed to a cross, that happyness ended soon, Redemption happened as inmediate effect from all those pains, his kingdom on the Earth ended too, man is freed from his Tyranny over the World .... no only the men of that present, but the men from the past and the of future ....
