Just recently I was reminded how simple mindedness of folks will toss God under the bus for lack of answering their prayers. If nothing else, the denial of God is a convenience for a willful manner of poor behavior. The thinking I'm sure goes something like this: Since there is no God the only morality I need to follow is what suits me.
Scripture advises believers to kick the dust off our feet and leave the nonbeliever moving towards the next needing to hear the Gospel. I suppose we should also pray for divine intervention towards the nonbeliever as we leave them.
I know that expressing faith in God isn't winning any popularity contests these days. I see how folks think that belittling God for the sake of getting even or continual fighting seems like a sort of satisfaction. I sure wish it wasn't that way, but it is.
The reality coming for believers isn't going to get any better either. I could get angry over the simple mindedness that chides my faith and be no better than the nonbeliever. In fact I used to do that very thing. Fortunately I anger less in a growing faith.
I understand that we all had free will. A bad rap used against God might be others' choice to make, but it isn't mine. The only folks wanting to be apart from God will be. I ain't one of them.
