Qualifying Christians

The Holy Spirit has led me to meditate on two scriptural aspects of the Word.
Matthew 7: 18-23
Luke 21:12

The scripture within Matthew must be examined by every Christian faced by political ramifications of
recent presidential support.  Support of Gay Marriage by this President is a position Christian's can not support.
In all of what Jesus taught us his 1st commandment was to honor the Father.  God's Law is very clear on the issue
of Same Sex relations. Leviticus 20:13.

Thankfully, The work of the cross allows us to hate the sin and love the sinner.
None of us would have escaped stoning for the alliteration of commandments from the book of Leviticus.

There is no such thing as a degree of sin, Sin is sin.  God hates it all.
The scriptures of Matthews I have focused on here, test the sincerity of answering to Jesus.
Christians must be honest about their obedience to the Word.

In terms of how Christians respond to current events in our world, we should be mindful of Luke's teaching.
We must also be mindful of Christ's second commandment, Love one another as I have loved you.

Ephesians 6:12 also tells us what we wrestle against.  Flesh and Blood are not the grounds of battle a christian engages.
Our job is not the destruction of evil, our job is the rebuking of evil and prospering the Gospel to those that need to hear it.

This is proven out in Revelation 11: 3-7
In the end only Jesus defeats evil.

I am myself a sinner, my flesh is corrupt.
This conversation must be had by those claiming to be Christians.
It is not a judgment, but rather more of an instructional observation.
I am not the author of the Word I am just a believer in the word edifying it for the body of Christ.

We can grow mature in the Spirit by applying any sinful nature to this test or line of thinking.
We should do that kind of search for our soul's benefit.
